The Undergraduate Minor (18 credits)
The department offers a minor in Linguistics with a focus in a single language. Students majoring in a language are strongly encouraged to double-major. The 3 courses (9 credits) required for a minor are the following:

LIN 3010 Introduction to Linguistics
FRE/GER/SPN 4850 Structure of French/German/Spanish or LIN 4326 Contrastive Phonology
FRE/GER/SPN 6835 History and Dialectology of French/German/Spanish or
                 LIN 6107 History and Dialectology of English


3 Departmental electives (9 credits) are to be chosen in consultation with advisor:
