interdisciplinary Program in Linguistics in the Department of Languages
and Linguistics offers Bachelor of Arts and the Master of
Arts Degrees in Linguistics. Admission requirements
for the graduate program are (1) an average of B or better in the last
60 semester hours of undergraduate courses, and (2) a combined total
score of 1000 or better on the combined verbal and quantitative sections
of the Graduate Record Examination. Exceptions for meeting both requirements
are sometimes made by petition. Course work may be started before being
admitted to the program. Graduate teaching assistantships with tuition
waivers are sometimes possible in our foreign language fields (see above),
English, and Communication for qualified applicants with previous degrees
or training in those areas. |
